I just discovered this great search engine: exalead. It automatically offers you the choice between refined searches based on the keywords that are most closely associated with your search. On top of that, you get immediately a preview of all the search results. Make your own choice.

The current Beta version of Exalead shows us their new ambition which is to catch up with google. The old version can’t compare to the new one.
I agree that the old version is more suitable for in a more complex business context, whereas the new version is great for consumers. The Beta version seems indeed to include some Search Engine best practices that you also find in Google. Maybe Google can return the compliments by including some of Exalead's innovations into their own product. Note that these 2 products are not really competing, since their business models seem to be entirely different (no advertising on exalead).
