eBay Wheel: moving the metrics


Yesterday, the group of participants to the eBay Wheel increased to more than 125.000 (unique eBay accounts).

In total, these users turned the eBay Wheel more than 1.250.000 times. This brings the average amount of turns per user above 10.

With still 5 more days to go for the eBay Wheel, this creates a lot of excitement in the eBay community!

On Friday, we welcomed our 100.000th participant to the eBay Wheel (unique user). This is a truly amazing figure.

Now the race for 1.000.000 turns on the eBay Wheel is open.

Activation Campaign: eBay Wheel

The eBay Wheel went live tonight.

Each time that you place a bid or buy something on eBay, you can turn the eBay Wheel once.
Each time that you list something on eBay, you can turn twice.
Invite 5 friends, and turn an extra time.
If you don't win a prize, you win points. Collect 10.000 points and you can turn an extra time.
Oh, and just by subscribing to the game, you can turn already once, and get immediately hooked.

The technical sophistication of this game is pretty impressive.
The eBay Wheel automatically and in real-time relates to your eBay actions. We hope it will be a success, and the first data is encouraging: for the first day, the participation has exceded every expectation (Public figures may or may not follow.)

The marketing campaign is also substantial. If you are part of the Belgian internet population, your chance to receive an email invitation to the eBay Wheel should be more than one in three, provided that you opted in on the appropriate email lists. And that is excluding our banner campaign.

Just to be sure, this is NOT a copy from another country.
But don't be surpised to see the eBay Wheel pop up elswhere in the world.

Radio Campaign: Today on eBay

My blog entry below deals mostly about the future and the ROI of radio advertising. That is why it may be interesting to share how eBay.be does radio commercials. We developed this campaign with Mortierbrigade.
